Beautiful message.

Unfortunately, I can only describe why this is by pointing out the problems with the game.

For one, the failure-to-get-a-powerup-thingy messages were fairly depressing. Whenever I attempted to succeed at a single aspect of life, the game always made me feel like a jerk (whether it was the aforementioned failure message or the result message). Even when I tried to perfectly balance all the aspects, I managed to feel horrible. For me, the most jarring failure message was "Your family misses you."

Regarding a different aspect of the game (specifically the controls): They sucked. No matter how long I held down the left/right key, I just couldn't get the character to move. I had to continually abort and restart the game until I got lucky.

Gameplay-wise, the game was okay. My only complaint is that trying to balance all the aspects of life always results in a sub-par score and a disappointing result message.

However...

Your game made me realize the IMPORTANCE of balancing success, love, family and hobbies, as well as the unfortunate fact that life is short. For this, I give this game a 10 out of 10, a 5 out of 5, and a place on my Favorites.

Just because it's a variation of Tetris...

With 5-block pieces instead of 4, it's treated as something unoriginal? That's stupid! I loved this game. I found the 5-block piece gameplay difficult compared to that of Tetris.

Thanks!

Great, although I have questions about the plot:

1. If Metal Sonic was in possession of the Chaos Emeralds, how did Shadow go super? I suppose Shadow could have somehow absorbed enough Chaos energy to transform...
2. Where did Kirby come from? If I am correct to assume that Sonic's and Kirby's are two of the Seven Worlds mentioned in the first scene, how was Kirby able to travel between dimensions?
Other than that, this game is just about perfect.
Oh, and get this: On the first turn of the fight, I decided to use Rune of Cataclysm, and it was 100% successful! The fight was over as soon as it began! Can you believe it?!

DiamondHengeStudios responds:

More of the plot will be revealing in episode 3. Everything will be made clear then...

Several of these songs

were very nostalgic for me, such as 1 (obviously), 14, 23, 28, 52, and 61. Interestingly, I only know these (save for #1) from remakes (in #23's case) and compilations for other systems and even from those plug-in "systems"! For the ones I didn't know, some hints were helpful enough for me to recognize the games immediately (like in 9, 10, 18, 22, 32, 36, 39, 40). For others, I just searched key words from the hints, along with "sega", on Wikipedia. I'm still having trouble with 4, 30, 44, 46, 49, 54, and 62. I've noticed that you've been giving hints for other reviewers, so, to quote Sonic (in the early cartoons), "I'm waiting!"

kleber responds:

hahaha! That Sonic cartoon was hilarious!

Ok, hints for you:
4: the main character is a earthworm!
30: this Master System game was released in Brazil as "Mônica no castelo do dragão"
44: a first person shooter with cops for saturn and arcades
46: the first "survival horror" game
49: i really have no extra hints for this game... well.. let's see... the main character has no name and his master is Mordamir
54: a side scroller game where you have four weapons to choose from, and they can be combined in various pairs to create a total of 14 unique weapons
62: the japanese original game name is "Magical Hat no Buttobi Tabo! Daib%u014Dken"

Sure is a lot of hints! I hope I helped you!
Thanks for play!

Holy crap, this rocks.

I can only hope there will be more playable characters in the final version. Also, it could use more attacks besides "slash" and "bomb", although that's probably going to be in the final version as well. Wait-TWO episodes? Regardless...yeah.

TheTOMEKnights responds:

Oh yes! I plan for a story mode and versus mode. ~Dannydk6

Didn't this used to be called Spartaman?

Did you, like, delete the first one, reupload it, and call it Spartaman 2 this time? Because it sure seems that way.

ShadowWhoWalks responds:

there actually is a spartaman 1, although no one can withstand the sheer madness of it. You can find it in one of my submissions a couple of years ago.

Great game.

The time limit reminded me of Majora's Mask, which -get this- I've never played. I disliked that failing to beat the nightmare resulted in deleveling aside from skills and the Sleep category or whatever. I loved the Jabberwocky reference, and one of the cat-creatures reminded me of Big the Cat due to her colors. I have mixed feelings about the ending, particularly the parts that the Girl seems to be evil again and is fighting the Boy, whom she previously seemed to like. Otherwise, this is a great game and I love playing it.

Maybe I'm just a noob, but...

This game is too hard, even on Little Girl mode! Here are the problems:
*The enemies generally surround you and attack at once, making it nearly impossible to fight back.
*Few health items.
*You're vulnerable when charging up the Spin Attack.
...Actually, that's pretty much it. But here's what you could do to make it better:
*Gradually regenerating health.
*Maybe two enemies at a time instead of four.
*More health items.
*Or, if you choose to ignore those suggestions... multiple lives, maybe?
